I started working with Jason in August 2007. I was on a personal quest to provide a healthy lifestyle for myself and be a good role model to my children. Jason has been an integral part in teaching me proper techniques of exercise, providing motivation, nutrition counseling, and an overall caring spirit. When I started this journey, I was not interested in the numbers on the scale, nor am I interested now. This isn't just about losing weight, it’s about creating a healthy lifestyle. Setting personal goals has been a big part of my success. I have entered well over a dozen races/tours to help me remain motivated and keep me moving forward. I also changed my nutritional habits as of Feb 2008. I have taken on a vegan diet, which has been challenging yet fun.
Jason has been a foundation for my success, and will continue to be a part of my journey to live fit!
Before starting my program, I was not able to walk up a flight of stairs when carrying a basket of laundry. My cardio ability has improved so much that now I enjoy long walks and bike rides with my family. I have been out of the Marine Corps since 1995. I was medically discharged for chronic back problems. I have three degenerated disks in my lower back. In the years since my discharge I have been in constant pain. It became a vicious cycle because my weight ballooned up due to inactivity, leading to more pain, leading to more inactivity. I just wanted to let you know that I have returned from my adventure in Nepal. It was an amazing experience and much harder than I ever expected. If you ever get the chance to do something like this I thoroughly recommend it. I want to thank you for all of your help in getting me ready. I never would have been able complete this adventure if I had not been so well prepared. My knees never hurt and I was able to keep going for 11 days of very strenuous hiking. I made it to 14k feet - the base of Annapurna and gazed upon the most beautiful mountains in the world. Thanks again.
